Why is AMH Test important?
AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) is a glycoprotein secreted directly from the ovary. AMH test can be performed at any period, with or without menstrual bleeding. It does not matter if the analysis is performed on an empty stomach or on a full stomach. The test is performed in the same way as other blood tests, with blood taken from the veins in the arm.
It does not show huge changes from month to month, a single measurement is sufficient. AMH level decreases with age.
